Carol Dweck's Mindset: The New Psychology of Success

"Artificial Intelligence & Generative AI for Beginners

Carol Dweck's Growth Mindset Carol Dweck's influential concept of a Growth

Mindset emphasizes that fundamental qualities, including intelligence and abilities, are not static but can be significantly developed through strategic dedication and hard work. Individuals who cultivate a growth mindset actively embrace challenges as valuable opportunities to learn and expand their skills. They demonstrate resilience by persisting through inevitable setbacks and correctly view effort as the essential path to achieving mastery. Consequently, they are more likely to take calculated risks, learn constructively from criticism, and ultimately achieve greater long-term success, as opposed to those with a fixed mindset who believe their talents are simply innate and unchangeable.

Mo Gawdat Scary Smart: The Future of Artificial Intelligence and How You Can Save Our World

Technology is putting our humanity at risk to an unprecedented degree. This book isn't for the engineers who write the code or the policymakers who regulate it; it's for you. Because you are the only one who can fix it.

Artificial intelligence is smarter than humans, processing information at lightning speed and predicting outcomes. So why does AI frequently get it wrong? The answer is us. Humans design the algorithms, and the information processed reflects an imperfect world.

In Scary Smart, Mo Gawdat, bestselling author and former chief business officer of Google [X], draws on over thirty years of experience to show what we can do to teach our machines how to live better. By 2049, AI will be a billion times more intelligent than humans. Scary Smart explains how to fix the current trajectory to ensure the AI of the future can preserve our species. This book offers a blueprint to safeguard ourselves, those we love, and the planet itself.
